Closest Continental Divide

Jason, his dog Butters, and I headed straight for the continental divide via the closest route possible from Boulder. It took us about 3 hours to get up there counting drive time from Boulder... not bad!
Was great to get up into the alpine, as Colorado doesn't allow conditions like these midwinter all that often.
We took a run on ol' Frosty, the broad mellowish E facing ridge, then headed up to ride a sweet looking NE facing spine. This run was one of my favorite of the season so far, beautiful snow, steep, and open.
The snowpack has been slowly adjusting to some newer loads, and warm weather to come should only strengthen the bonds between layers. It takes a long while for these things to happen in the cold continental climate of Colorado, but when it does we love it.
